i am longing for summer
Today so far has been quite sweet.I had a good friend over this morning while our boys were at preschool, we had a giggle at the music channels, especially Smash Hits which was doing a countdown of the 20 Amazingly Bad Boy Bands. What was worrying was that my friend happened to remember most of them and the songs, some before the videos had even started.
When I picked up my boy I had a quick look in the local supermarket. They were flogging all the Mother's Day stuff and I had to buy a pretty little vase which was not bad at 75 pence! I had filled it with water and stuck a few pink carnations from my Mother's Day flowers.
It seems Winter isn't quite over for us Brits. Talk of snow and more frost isn't making me happy. I thought Spring had finally made it's appearance, but no, it has turn frickin' freezin' again. I want to start planting some pansies and petunias out in the garden but won't as I don't want to frost to kill them. I also have some herbs and garlic waiting to go outside too. Something I am really looking forward to growing is my Sunflower seeds (well they're really the kids, but I'm more excited about it).
My parents are due to go out to Gran Canaria this Saturday. Am I jealous? Just a bit. But we're hopefully going to go there or somewhere else Spanish the end of June. We have the money for it all tucked away safely too. We've been saving really hard for it.
