ethans fourth b day

Well as I promised here's a handful of pics from our weekend. Saturday night we attended a friend's wedding reception which was fun. The kids loved the music and danced non-stop! Sunday was Ethan's 4th birthday and he had a really fun day.

The reception we went to was really good. It was at a hotel where I used to work a few years ago as a chambermaid. It has had a makeover and much nicer than it used to be. Now the best thing about this reception was the music!! The bride and groom are proper rockers and all the music was alternative. No cheesy 80s or soppy love songs here. Try Linkin Park, Green Day, Red Hot Chili Peppers instead. Dave and me found it a lot more enjoyable and especially amused by the kids dancing to "Peaches"!
Bel had to pick up all the silver heart confetti on our table. She looked so sweet concentrating and picking each tiny bit up and keeping it for herself. My little girl already has a penchant for shiny things! She also got worried after the wedding cake was cut. The waiter took it to the kitchen to be cut up and she was wailing for it.

Ethan had a great birthday too. Not too many presents, just one big present (the garage) from us and clothes, a few small toys and money from relatives. We went out to Adventureland with his grandparents, aunt, uncle and cousin and then came back to ours for a birthday tea. He had cake and blew out his candles. Then later my parents popped round in the evening to give him a few other pressies. It was great to catch up with my folks and see their holiday pics. I can't wait for mine now!

I've got some other news but I'll leave that till the next entry. It doesn't seem appropriate here. I'll be back soon...
